Effect of Transfer
Jurisdiction Transferred to Transferee Court.

A court to which a transfer is made becomes the court of continuing jurisdiction with authority to hear a suit to modify, and all proceedings in the suit are continued as if it had been brought there originally. All judgments, decrees, and orders transferred will have the same effect and be enforced as if originally rendered in the transferee court.

Enforcement by transferee court.

The transferee court is required to enforce judgments, decrees, and orders of the transferring court by contempt or by any other means by which the transferring court would have been able to enforce them. The transferee court has the power to punish by contempt any disobedience of the transferring court's judgments, decrees, and orders, whether occurring before or after the transfer.

Transferring Court Loses Jurisdiction

The jurisdiction of the transferring court terminates on the docketing of the case in the transferee court. After the transfer, the transferring court does not retain jurisdiction of the child, nor does it have jurisdiction to enforce its order by contempt for a violation occurring before or after the transfer of jurisdiction.
