 | | My child is living away from home. Do I still receive child support payments? |
It all depends on how the court order for child support is written. If the child visits the non-custodial parent for an extended period of time, the non-custodial parent does not have to pay child support during the child’s visit – as long as it’s stated in the court order.
In the case where the child lives someplace other than with the custodial parent, child support is still to be paid – unless specifically stated in the court order.
